Carouge, a Sardinian-era town with retail charm, ideal for boutiques and craftspeople
Founded in the 18th century by the Kingdom of Sardinia to attract craftspeople and merchants, Carouge has kept its DNA: shopfronts on the street, workshops in the inner courtyards of its neoclassical façades. With around 22,000 inhabitants, it is one of the canton’s largest municipalities, but above all it is a very dense fabric of micro-businesses, boutiques and bistros concentrated in Vieux-Carouge.
For a business in Carouge, visibility is decided first on proximity searches: “near me”, the name of the commune, the neighbourhood. A fast site, a consistent Google listing and a page that talks about Carouge make the difference before anything else.
What I put in place in Carouge
- A site that gets you contacted: a form wired to your front desk, embedded booking if needed.
- Local search: Google Business Profile, a page per area, schema.org markup, identical contact details everywhere.
- A base operated daily: the multi-site platform I run for around twenty clients in French-speaking Switzerland.
- Your teams edit: text, images, hours, news, directly on the page.
- Measured, not promised: delivered sites sit between 88 and 100 in mobile performance.
